The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has congratulated the national leadership of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) under its new President, Honour Sirawoo.

MOSOP in a statement signed by its President, Legborsi Pyagbara, said the outstanding achievements of the Ogoni-born Sirawoo deserve commendation and hope that his feats will serve as a great source of motivation to Ogoni youths and inspire them to greater heights.

The statement further urged the new SWAN leadership under Mr Honour Sirawoo to use the opportunity to advance the interest of sports writers and contribute to the development of sports as a vehicle for social integration and advocacy for national peace.

Sirawoo, who hails from Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State has at various times been the Vice Chairman and Chairman of SWAN in the state, before becoming the Vice President of the association in the South South and on July 13, 2016 he was elected as the National President of SWAN.
